The King Room I stayed in was immaculate, with fine views, made for a perfect backdrop while I lounged on the balcony with a drink. Breakfast blew my mind with homemade jams and eggs straight from the hens, not to mention the diverse menu that left no one hungry.
Accessing the place was a bit of an adventure with narrow, twisty roads that required some GPS magic to navigate effectively without getting lost. Plus, the toilet seat was a tad higher than I'd prefer, and if you're not tall, it could be a bit uncomfortable. A second chair in the room would have been nice for lounging. Lastly, don't expect a ton of nearby dining options. You might need to travel a bit to find a good meal.

nice stay with minor quirks
Beautiful views from the garden add a serene touch to the stay. The cottage itself was impeccably presented. Breakfast featured eggs from the Fernside hens, offering a good homemade taste. I particularly enjoyed the well-maintained gardens, perfect for a morning stroll.
Access via single-track lanes may be challenging for some drivers.

Loved the King Room with its gorgeous view of the countryside. The bed felt luxurious and offered a superb night's sleep. Breakfast every morning was just amazing! Options included homemade granola, fresh fruit, and a variety of cooked dishes. The homemade bread and jams were very nice. Ian and Linda were really good hosts. Their attention to detail. The access roads were quite narrow was great. A second chair in the room would have been a nice touch, as well as mugs for tea instead of small cups. It was a good getaway, but those minor improvements could enhance the experience.

The king-sized bed offered the most comfortable sleep I’ve had in ages, and the breakfast spread was an absolute delight with fresh local ingredients. After breakfast, I loved lounging in the inviting shared sitting room, perfect for unwinding. the toilet seat was a tad high for shorter folks, so just a heads-up on that! Don't miss out on the fantastic breakfast! 😄
